Hi, I’m Kristy Tull - the designer and maker behind Fox & Ramona.
Fox & Ramona is Melbourne based label creating an extensive range of bold, original concrete homewares and hand-painted planters.
If you’ve been looking for unique, handcrafted concrete plates, platters, bowls, dishes, cones, vases, and planters then you’re in the right place.
My creative process is quite spontaneous and organic. I often have a design or colour-way in mind, start mixing and the original idea turns into a completely different concept altogether. I design and hand-make all of my homewares and small and hanging planters. So when you buy a product by Fox & Ramona - it’s as unique as you are.
Before Fox & Ramona became my full time job in 2014, I worked an assistant in architectural firms for many years. During that time I also studied Interior Design at RMIT. My most important job to date though is as a mum to my beautiful daughter Pia.
Aside from being exposed to such a creative working environment for so many years, I’ve always been a maker and explored different crafts and mediums. Fox & Ramona started out as polymer clay and resin jewellery – a far cry from concrete. Well, kind of! There are actually many similarities in the making process of both resin and concrete pieces so the switch came about quite naturally.
I started Fox & Ramona as a creative outlet, making jewellery. But I ‘discovered concrete’ trawling a junk shop one day in the form of a small terracotta planter painted to look like concrete. I loved the raw look and natural texture but not the shape of the planter, so I bought a bag of concrete and started experimenting with designs. Next thing I know I’ve bought a concrete mixer and quit my day job. Who would’ve thought!
